Enrolment Requirements

 Enrolment and Course Entry Requirements

Training Sense has enrolment and course entry requirements that provide a guide to all potential students when considering a course.

Enrolment documents

When enrolling you may need to provide documents to:

  • prove you meet the entry requirements (e.g. VCE transcript, proof of work skills, etc)
  • support a claim for recognition (e.g. previous qualifications, transcript of studies)
  • show application details (for courses requiring an application)
  • support a fee exemption or concession claim (e.g. proof of pension)
  • confirm citizenship status and date of birth (e.g. passport)

Entry Requirements

Certificate Levels I – III

·         There are no entry requirements for these qualifications.

Certificate Level IV

·         There are no entry requirements for this qualification; however some courses may have pre requisites form Certificate III qualifications. (Please discuss these requirements with the Program Coordinator)

Diploma Level and above

·         Victorian Certificate of Education (or equivalent).

VCE or School Certificate

For entry to many Training Sense courses you'll need to have completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (Year 12) or other school certificate.

If you don't have one of these qualifications, you may have 'equivalents' that allow you to enrol.

Knowledge and skills

Selection for Training Sense courses is not based on your TER or ATAR, but for some courses you'll need a good understanding of specific subjects.

For these courses you'll be asked to assess your knowledge of a subject. This will help confirm that you can cope with the course.

Qualifications and experience

For some courses, particularly higher-level ones, you'll need experience or qualifications in a relevant field. Specific requirements are available from the Program Coordinator.

Equivalents to entry requirements

If you don't meet formal entry requirements for Training Sense, you may still be admitted if you:

  • have equivalents to the VCE or School Certificate (see below)

  • have equivalent work or other life experiences

  • meet special admission requirements (e.g. age 20 years +)

  • do a short bridging course to get your skills up

  • have equivalent overseas qualifications.
